Here’s how it works:

  1. Establish a budget. Determine a budget for your annual health care spending. You'll decide on a set allowance to contribute for your employees' health care costs.
  2. Select which plans to offer. You choose a menu of HMO and PPO plans that work best for your employees, including medical, dental and vision coverage.
  3. Allocate the funds. Contribute your share of pretax dollars for your employees to use toward their plan.
  4. Employees choose their benefits. Employees shop and purchase their plans online through the Coverage for Companies website.
