How Blue Elect Plus HSA POS plans work

Blue Elect Plus HSA POS combines an HSA-qualified high-deductible health plan and a Blue Elect Plus POS plan. As a point of service plan, your employees won't need a referral to see a specialist. Your employees will pay the least when they get care from a doctor in our network. They’ll pay more when the doctor doesn’t belong to our network. It’s up to them to decide what works best. Please note some services are only covered in network and certain services require prior approval by BCN to be covered.

As an HSA-qualified high deductible health plan, Blue Elect Plus HSA POS allows you, your employee or both to contribute, pre-tax, to an employee-owned HSA. Employees own the account and can use it to pay for current qualified medical expenses or save for future qualified medical expenses. Blue Elect Plus HSA POS offers an HSA administered through HSA Bank or HealthEquity®, Inc. An HSA allows your employees to conveniently access money in their accounts with an HSA Visa card.
