plan features

How does the plan work?

As a student or graduate assistant enrolled in the plans, you’ll be assigned a primary care physician, or PCP, who’s based at Olin Health Care Center on campus. Your PCP is your first point of contact for health care. These doctors:

  • Provide routine health services
  • Give referrals for visits with specialists

Using Olin Health Center

If you go to Olin, you'll generally pay less out of pocket for your care. If you need to see a doctor outside of Olin Health Center, you’ll need a referral for care within 45 miles of campus. Without it, your care won’t be covered. However, you don't need a referral for ER visits. If you have children under 17, they’ll be assigned a Blue Care Network pediatrician within 45 miles of Olin.
