For Providers: How Do I Complete Medicare Fraud, Waste and Abuse Training?

Providers and staff serving Blue Cross and BCN Medicare Advantage members must complete fraud, waste and abuse training. To complete the training, you can:

2. Complete your own training program as long as it is substantially similar to the CMS modules.

Who needs to complete the training?

Training is required within 90 days of hire and annually for:

  • Governing body members
  • Employees (including contractors)
  • Volunteers

Keep a record of completed training for 10 years from the end date of your contract with Blue Cross or BCN. You need to be able to provide proof of training to Blue Cross, BCN or CMS, if requested.
