This Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network solution provides convenient preventive health visits to employees through a program called VirtualCheckup® that can take place at onsite work events or at home with kits by mail, or both. It's available as a buy-up for self-insured groups with at least 100 employees. Fully-insured groups should contact their Blue Cross representative for more information.
Preventive care is most effective when it’s easy to access. We have partnered with Catapult Health to make preventive health visits simple and convenient through virtual health checks with at‑home or onsite screenings. These wellness checks are paired with a visit with a licensed virtual nurse practitioner to interpret results and identify any risks.
Employees who participate in preventive health visits with VirtualCheckup have lower average annual health care claims compared to non-participants.
Earlier detection of serious but hidden conditions through virtual wellness checks allows employees to take action sooner, which can reduce medical emergencies, long‑term complications, and time away from work. For employers, this means healthier employees and lower overall health care costs through preventive care.
There is no monthly fee per employee for this solution.
