What Are Preferred Pharmacies?

When you have Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage with us, we give you ways to lower your costs. One way you may be able to save money is by using a preferred pharmacy instead of a standard pharmacy.

A preferred pharmacy is in your network and saves you money on your copays. A standard pharmacy is also in your network but has slightly higher copays.

What are the benefits of using a preferred pharmacy?

Using a preferred pharmacy offers you these benefits:

  • Lower out-of-pocket costs for your prescription medications.
  • We have a wide network of preferred pharmacies both nationwide and in Michigan.

Can I use a standard pharmacy?

Yes, you can still use a standard pharmacy, but keep in mind the copays for your medications may be higher.

How do I find a preferred pharmacy?

To find out which pharmacies near you are preferred, you can:

  • Use the Find a Pharmacy tool. Preferred pharmacies will be clearly labeled.
  • Ask your pharmacist.
  • Call the number on the back of your member ID card.
