Point of service health plans don’t require referrals Blue Care Network offers two point-of-service health care plans: Blue Elect Plus℠ POS and Blue Elect Plus HSA℠ POS. In addition, beginning in 2023, BCN is administering a self-funded point-of-service health plan for FCA nonbargaining employees and retirees called Healthy Blue Choices℠ POS. Find out which of your BCN patients don’t need a referral. Provider Resources site adds search tool Since launching Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network’s Provider Resources site, we have continued to expand and improve it. We now have a search tool available to assist you in finding the information you need. Read more: March 2023 issue of The Record Additional precision medicine and pharmacogenomics education opportunities On Jan. 1, 2023, BCN launched an end-to-end precision medicine pharmacogenomics, or PGx, program called Blue Cross Personalized Medicine℠. Behavioral health providers: Use G2212 in place of *99354 and *99355 In January 2023, we posted a provider alert in which we asked behavioral health providers to hold claims for dates of service on or after Jan. 1, 2023, that contain procedure codes *99354 and *99355. These codes are for non-medical behavioral health prolonged services. Here’s what to do: Use HCPCS code G2212 in place of procedure codes *99354 and *99355 for dates of service on or after Jan 1, 2023. Legislation removes barriers to using buprenorphine to treat people with OUD The Mainstreaming Addiction Treatment Act removes many barriers in the prescription of buprenorphine, the most commonly prescribed medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. It was originally scheduled to end in December 2022.
