When you call:

  1. Say "claims" when the system asks why you're calling.
  2. Answer the prompts about your patient and whether you provided care in Michigan.
  3. Enter the following information:
    • Your 10-digit national provider identifier, BCBSM PIN or facility code
    • The member’s contract number, date of birth, the spelling of their first name and their ZIP code
  4. Say "no" when the system asks if you're calling about the status of a claim.
  5. Say "voucher" when asked if you've received a voucher.
  6. Listen to the list of reasons to discuss your claim, and choose your option from one of the following: 
    • Say "payment" for payment other than anticipated.
    • Say "rejection" for a rejected claim.
    • Say "adjustment" for accounts receivable.
    • Say "follow-up" to follow up on a claim's status.
    • Say "recovery" for claims recovery.
  7. Say "representative" to reach someone who can help. You’ll need to wait for the system to finish speaking before responding. Otherwise, you could be disconnected.
