What does LegacySM Medigap cover?

Who is this for?

If you're thinking about a Legacy Medigap plan, this explains the benefits and services it offers.

Original Medicare provides you hospital and medical coverage. But it doesn't cover all health care costs and has deductibles and coinsurance.

Legacy Medigap expands Original Medicare benefits. Depending on the Legacy plan you choose, it may cover all or part of your Medicare deductibles and coinsurances.

We offer two Legacy Medigap coverage options to choose from. There's a different monthly premium for each.

What's covered:

Legacy Plan A is the most basic plan. It pays:

  • Part A hospital daily copays after you pay the $1,288 deductible.
  • Part B medical coinsurance after you pay the $166 deductible.
  • Your hospice care costs.
  • Your durable medical equipment costs.

Legacy Plan C is a more comprehensive plan. It pays:

  • Your Part A hospital deductible and daily copays.
  • Your Part B medical deductible and coinsurance.
  • Your hospice care costs.
  • Your durable medical equipment costs.
  • Eighty percent of your costs of emergency care outside the U.S. after you pay a $250 deductible.
A more complete list of benefits and services for both plans are described in this Legacy Medigap brochure (PDF).

What's not covered

Legacy Medigap plans don't cover prescription drugs. You can buy a separate Part D plan, like a Prescription Blue℠ PDP plan, to protect yourself from high costs at the pharmacy.

Legacy Medigap plans also don't pay any costs for dental, vision or hearing services beyond what Original Medicare covers.
