Out-of-network copayment

Also known as: out-of-panel or nonpanel copayment

Out-of-network copayment is a fixed dollar amount (for example, $15) you pay at the time you receive a health care service (for instance, a doctor's visit) from a provider (for example, doctors and hospitals) who is not in your network.

Out-of-network copayment will usually cost more than your in-network copayment because out-of-network providers typically won't offer the same discounts as in-network providers.
