Deductible

Your deductible is the dollar amount you pay for covered medical services before your plan starts to pay. For instance, if you have a $1,000 deductible and you've only had one doctor's visit this year that costs you $700, you would need to spend $300 on covered services before your plan would start to share the costs (coinsurance) of your health care. Typically, plans with higher deductibles have lower monthly premiums.
