Why did I receive an Explanation of Benefits saying my claims were rejected because I didn’t respond to a letter about other health insurance coverage?

If you’re a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan member, this information can help you know what to do if you receive a letter saying your claims were rejected.
From time to time, we’ll mail you a letter asking if you have any other health insurance coverage. This letter’s important because it helps us coordinate your benefits. We ask that you complete, sign and return the form included with the letter within 15 days. If we don’t receive the form within that time frame, your claims may be rejected.
If this happens to you, please call Customer Service. Your Customer Service representative will ask you for the same information as the form. Once we receive that information, we can re-process your rejected claims.
