Reminder: How billing works for care authorized by VA at non-VA facilities for FEP membersVeteran Administration benefits are coordinated with Blue Cross and Blue Shield Federal Employee Program® benefits. When a VA facility authorizes care by a non-VA health care provider, the VA facility is considered the billing provider, and the non-VA provider is considered the performing provider. The VA, as the billing provider, is responsible for filing the member’s claim for the FEP® benefit to the local plan. The non-VA provider is reimbursed by the VA facility. |
