HMS to decommission its provider portal

As reported in the November 2022 Record, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network transitioned their audit services from HMS^® to Cotiviti in December 2022 for Medicare Plus Blue℠ and BCN Advantage℠ claim reviews. HMS and Cotiviti are independent companies that provide auditing support services for Blue Cross and BCN.

HMS will decommission its provider portal on July 31, 2023. Starting Aug. 1, access to the portal will cease. Clients and health care providers attempting to log in to the portal on or after Aug. 1 will receive an error message stating the portal has been decommissioned.

Records uploaded into the portal prior to the decommission date will continue to be processed.

Questions or instructions about submitting records or appeals on or after Aug. 1.

To submit records or appeals to Cotiviti on or after Aug. 1, fax them to 203-202-6511.
