SilverSneakers fitness program starts in January for MPSERS Medicare Plus Blue members

The SilverSneakers® fitness program will be available at no additional cost, starting Jan. 1, 2022, for all Michigan Public School Employees' Retirement System members with Medicare Plus Blue℠ plans.

SilverSneakers is the nation's leading exercise program designed to keep older adults active and healthy. It offers exercise and nutrition classes at participating fitness centers and online, either live or on-demand.The classes consist of no-impact cardiovascular and muscular strength activities that have been found to be the most helpful for seniors.

The fitness program encourages members to live healthier, more active lifestyles, and can help prevent many of the problems that typically occur with aging. Increasing physical activity helps strengthen bones and improve joint flexibility, and makes seniors feel safer when performing their daily activities.

The program also provides members with information about weight control and explores exercise options that prove helpful for older adults with chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and osteoarthritis.

The SilverSneakers Fitness Program is a great resource for your eligible senior patients. Visit silversneakers.com** to learn more.
