New Directions, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s behavioral health manager for most of our commercial plans, will be offering a series of free educational webinars on applied behavioral analysis. The series will be led by board‑certified behavior analysts. Though this series is designed for ABA providers, all providers are welcome to attend. These monthly education sessions will focus on best practices in ABA and ethical considerations, including:

  • Autism and mental health comorbidities
  • Parent training, education and support
  • Transition planning
  • Coordination of care
  • Informed consent
  • Client dignity
  • Child abuse reporting and maintaining therapeutic alliance
  • Suicidality and autism spectrum disorder
  • “Gold standard” documentation

Attendees will receive a continuing education unit after participation. New Directions is accredited as a CEU provider by the Behavioral Analysis Certification Board. Webinars will follow all BACB requirements.
