Reminder: Additional codes for influenza testing in a doctor’s officeEarlier this year, we added new CPT codes to our physician in-office laboratory procedures list. We added these codes to help physicians rule out influenza during the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are the CPT codes for influenza tests that can now be performed in a physician’s office:
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan commercial and Medicare Plus Blue℠ plans already cover CPT code *87804. The remainder of the codes are new for the physician in-office laboratory procedures list. All four codes are covered in the physician’s office, with an effective date of Feb. 4, 2020, for the following lines of business:
