Updated Finding your plans and networks guide now available

An updated Finding your plans and networks guide is now available. It includes a revised Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network list of health plans and provider networks.

The guide is intended to help you navigate the Find a Doctor site and identify the plans you accept. You can use the Finding your plans and networks list to help determine the provider networks to which you belong. With so many different health plans and varied local networks, we know it’s not easy to manage this information. This guide can help.

When new patients contact you or current patients change health plans, you’ll be able to use the guide to know if you accept their plan. Also, knowing the network associated with the plan is helpful when making referrals to other providers.

When logged in to web-DENIS, you can find the guide with these steps:

  1. Click on BCBSM Provider Publications and Resources.
  2. Click on Newsletters and Resources.
  3. Under the Products section in the left navigation menu, click the Products and Networks link.
  4. Click on Finding your plans and networks within the General product information section.

The guide is also available within BCN Provider Publications and Resources. When logged in, follow these steps:

  1. Click on BCN Provider Publications and Resources.
  2. Under the left navigation menu’s Products section, click BCN Products.
  3. Click on Finding your plans and networks within the General product information section.

You may want to keep a list of the health plans accepted by each provider in your office and the provider networks to which they belong at your front desk. This can help when answering patient questions about health plans.

If you have questions about your network status, call Provider Enrollment and Data Management at 1-800-822-2761. Before calling, make sure you have the following three items:

  • National Provider Identifier
  • The last four digits of the provider's Social Security number (for an individual provider) or tax ID (for a group)
  • Primary address and phone number
