Reminder: UAW International and UAW Retiree Health Care Trust don’t require AIM prior authorization

There continues to be some confusion about which UAW-related groups require preauthorization from AIM Specialty Health®. While UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust, or URMBT, members require prior authorization for select outpatient medical diagnostic services, the following UAW groups do not require prior authorization:

  • UAW Retiree Health Care Trust (group number 70605)
  • UAW International Union (group number 71714) 

Keep in mind that you should always check Benefit Explainer for information about eligibility and benefits for your patients. Benefit Explainer will let you know if a service requires authorization after you enter the patient's contract number and service procedure code.
