BCBSM to host March training session for board-certified behavior analysts

This month we’re hosting a training session for board-certified behavior analysts to learn more about applied behavioral analysis services, upcoming procedure code changes and billing guidelines.

The session will take place March 25 at the Lyon Meadows Conference Center, 53200 Grand River Ave., Conference Room A, in New Hudson. The event will last from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

To register for the event, send an email to SEprofessionaleducationregistration@bcbsm.com and include the attendee’s first and last names, the provider’s office name, National Provider Identifier, address and phone number. You will receive a confirmation within 72 hours of registering.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan recently discontinued the accelerated process for obtaining an autism evaluation. Effective Jan. 1, 2014, members must have an autism diagnosis made or confirmed by a Blues approved autism evaluation center if they’re seeking a recommendation for ABA treatment.

If a BCBSM member obtained an autism diagnosis using the accelerated process prior to Jan. 1, 2014, the diagnosis will be accepted by BCBSM for a period of three years from the date the diagnosis was made.
