For the past 10 years, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has been moving from a fee-for-service payment model to value-based reimbursement. I’ve talked and written about it previously, including this article from last year. The transformation is part of an industry-wide effort aimed at managing rising health care costs and delivering optimal value to those who receive and pay for care. Read more.

 

PGIP to accept applications for new organized systems of care
We’d like to invite newly formed organized systems of care to apply to become PGIP-contracted OSCs. Applications will be accepted from July 1, 2016, through Aug. 31, 2016. OSCs whose applications are approved will become PGIP-contracted OSCs, effective Dec. 1, 2016. Read more.
