| Davis started feeling the benefits of her walking program almost immediately and after just a few months, people started to notice her weight loss. |
"When doctors told me seven years ago that I was morbidly obese, I didn’t believe them," Davis said. "I denied it. I was active, and I just thought that being big was who I was. I had given up the idea I could be thin. But then something happened that inspired me to change my life – and walking worked to help me get there."
Davis lost 162 pounds in 16 months without the use of any drugs, surgery, expensive equipment or drastic diet plans. She did it the healthy and smart way — by simply eating healthier and following a daily walking program.
"I’m happier, healthier and more energetic than I ever thought possible. If you ask me my secret, I have to tell you that it’s walking," said Davis. "I can’t imagine not walking each day. I truly feel it helps me keep the extra weight off."
Now that Davis has reached her weight loss goal and kept the extra weight off for over five years, her new goal is to help other women. She shares the details of her success story at WalkyTalk.com, an online community created by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan where people can support each other on the road to good health.
