DETROIT, March 27, 2008 - More than 600 Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network employees, friends and family members will help raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit at the annual Bowl for Kids' Sake on Saturday, March 29 at Merri Bowl, 30950 Five Mile Road in Livonia.

This is the sixth year the Blues have been involved in the bowling challenge. It raises money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit activities and programs throughout Wayne County for children who already have a Big Brother or Big Sister and those who are waiting for one.

"Blues employees understand the importance of mentoring children throughout the community. We are proud to show our support for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit through events such as Bowl for Kids' Sake," says Michele Samuels, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan vice president and general auditor, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit board member.

Ruselda Johnson, vice president of communications and corporate events for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit, said, "This fun-filled event presents a tremendous opportunity for Blues employees and their families and friends to build awareness for the need for mentors by raising money for this important cause."

The target pledge goal for each bowler is $100 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under, which earns them two games of bowling and free shoe rental. Bowlers who raise the minimum pledge will be eligible for prizes such as hotel stays and gift certificates.
