- Training Programs
The National Retiree Servicing Department has the responsibility for developing and conducting training programs for current and new UAW benefit counselors who have volunteered to answer and coordinate benefit and claim issues for their council UAW members who use the council drop-in centers. The counselors are provided education materials such as benefit and service manuals and have direct access to the Blue Cross Blue Shield benefits service center through a special hot line phone number. - Annual Seminars are scheduled and conducted in various locations throughout the U.S. for those UAW/Auto members who do not have access to a council located in their state. The seminars provide these members with the opportunity to receive detailed information regarding a whole host of negotiated benefits such as healthcare benefits and services.

The National Retiree Servicing Department has a number of field representatives who are experienced and knowledgeable about UAW/Auto benefits and procedures and attend UAW Council meetings throughout the U.S. on a regular monthly basis. Their responsibilities include presenting and explaining specific details regarding negotiated health care benefits; health education issues and responding and coordinating the resolution of claim inquiries for denied services. - Talking Points — Talking Points are the topics discussed by National Retiree Service Representatives at UAW Retiree Council Meetings. The information shared with the retirees is provided to help clarify benefit related questions regarding program benefits. The NRS Representative will discuss the topics in detail at the Council meetings.
