If you want to lower your chances of getting the flu, here’s what you need to know about flu shots when you have a Medicare Advantage plan.

Did you know adults age 65 years and older are more likely to get the flu? And when you get a flu shot, you’re not just protecting yourself. You’re protecting the people around you, too.

The good news is our Medicare Advantage plans cover the influenza vaccine. The best time to get one is at the beginning of flu season in the fall. Whenever you decide, your flu shot is free. It’s easy to get one, too. You can:

  • Call your doctor or primary care physician and make an appointment. You may have an office visit copay.
  • Go to a pharmacy that offers flu shots. Before you go, call to make sure the pharmacy accepts your Medicare plan, or look in your pharmacy directory.
