Information for members of Medicare Plus BlueSM Group PPO

The UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust offers comprehensive health coverage through Medicare Plus Blue Group PPO. This plan gives you the benefits and protection of Original Medicare Parts A and B (hospital and medical), but expands your coverage to include additional benefits and a level of personal service you won't get with Medicare alone.

With Medicare Plus Blue Group PPO, you'll get:

  • Lower costs, with no monthly contribution to the Trust in 2014*
  • Freedom to choose any doctor or hospital that accepts Original Medicare (Please note: Health care providers must be part of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare Advantage network to be considered in-network.)
  • Coverage for services nationwide
  • Worldwide coverage for urgent care and emergencies
  • No referrals needed to see specialists
  • Virtually no paperwork
  • One ID card for health services (You will have a separate ID card for prescription drug coverage.)

*You must continue to pay your Medicare Part B premium.

Medicare Plus Blue Group is a PPO plan with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in Medicare Plus Blue Group depends on contract renewal.

With the exception of emergency or urgent care, it will cost more to get care from non-plan or non-preferred providers. You may receive services from any provider who accepts Original Medicare.
