Your Medicare choices

Medicare Advantage plans

Also called Medicare Part C, Medicare Advantage plans work the most like the health insurance you had before Medicare. When you need care, you have just one ID card for all services. We handle your claims.

Most of our Medicare Advantage plans include benefits you don't get with Original Medicare, like Part D prescription drugs and routine dental, vision and hearing care. So they're a complete insurance package.

More Medicare options

Original Medicare only pays a portion of your health care expenses for approved services. You're responsible for the rest. But we have plans that can help you fill in the gaps. They cover some or all of your share of the costs.

They also pay for some things Medicare doesn't, like more days in the hospital.

Part D prescription drug plans

Not everyone needs a Part D plan. Many Medicare Advantage plans include it. Some people, like veterans and federal employees, can get coverage as good as Part D.

But everyone needs a prescription filled at some time. If you don't have Part D, our plans will keep you covered at the pharmacy.

Which Medicare choice is right for you

Medicare Advantage

Want convenience and all-in-one coverage? After you enroll in Original Medicare Part A and Part B, your Medicare Advantage plan acts as your health coverage. When you need care, give your health care provider your Blues ID card and we do the rest.

Medicare Advantage plans cover the same services as Original Medicare. Most include additional benefits you don't get with Original Medicare and Medigap plans, like Part D prescription drugs and dental and eye exams. Your expenses are capped with an annual out-of-pocket maximum.

Keep in mind Medicare Advantage plans have a network. You should go to providers in your plan's network for the lowest costs and to make sure your care is covered.

Original Medicare Part A and B

Your health coverage is administered through the U.S. government. It only covers basic hospital and medical expenses.

More Medicare options

These plans work with Original Medicare to cover your out-of-pocket costs and expand limits and benefits.

Part D prescription drug plans

Most people will need a Part D plan if it's not included in your other Medicare coverage.
