Acute care hospitals with teaching programs

Acute care hospitals with teaching programs must submit two bills for inpatient services for Medicare Plus Blue PFFS^SM members:

1. Bill the Medicare fiscal intermediary for operating indirect medical education costs and graduate medical education payments.


2. Bill all other acute inpatient care charges to your local Blue plan.
