Who is this for?

If you're a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan or Blue Care Network member, this information will give you helpful tips for using Member Secured Services to manage your account.

How to register

Do I choose my own User Name or will Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan or Blue Care Network provide this for me?

As a member, you can create your own User Name. Choose one that has at least seven characters in length and is not already being used by another member.

Can my password be anything I want?

You can create your own unique password. Choose one that’s at least six characters in length and contains at least one letter and one number. Stay away from a password that’s the same as your User Name or one that has obscene words in it. Most importantly, make sure it’s easy to remember.

Why do I need to setup security questions and answers?

If you forget your User Name or password, these security questions and answers will help you regain access to the system.

How to register my PIN

What is a PIN and how do I get one?

A personal identification number, or PIN, is a code randomly generated by BCBSM. It provides another layer of security to your protected health information that’s online. Your PIN will be mailed to the postal address you used when you registered.

I lost my PIN. How do I request another PIN?

If you lost the letter from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan containing your PIN, you can request a new PIN. Follow these instructions and a new PIN will be mailed to you. (Please allow three to five days to receive your new PIN in the mail.)

  1. Log in to your online account.
  2. Click on the button to complete your PIN registration.
  3. Click on the link: "Lost your PIN?"
  4. Click on the button labeled "Issue New PIN."

When will I receive my PIN?

Your PIN should arrive in three to five business days. An international delivery may take additional time.

More than five business days have passed and I haven't received my PIN. Can the PIN be reissued?

If you do not receive your PIN in the mail within five days after registering for an online account, please verify that we have your correct address by validating your address with your employer's benefit department or by calling the Customer Service number on the back of your ID card. Follow the instructions and a new PIN will be mailed to you. (Please allow three to five days to receive your new PIN in the mail.)
