What is an accidental injury deductible waiver?

A deductible is the amount of money you have to pay before your health insurance begins to pay. The annual deductible for the Young Adult Blue Max℠ plan is $1,000 for in network, $2,000 for out of network.

The accidental injury deductible waiver means if you’re hurt in an accident, you don’t have to pay any deductible. Here’s how it works:

  • You break your arm in a fall. With the accidental injury deductible waiver, you don’t have to pay $1000 towards your deductible on top of your share of the expenses—such as coinsurance and copays—for the medical care you need.
