What’s my deductible?

A deductible is the amount of money you have to pay for health care services before your health insurance begins to pay.

The Smart Select℠ plan offers three levels of annual deductibles:

  • $1,500 for individuals / $3,000 for families
  • $2,500 for individuals / $5,000 for families
  • $5,000 for individuals / $10,000 for families

Maternity services have a separate $3,000 deductible.

Some services are covered before you meet your annual deductible. Preventive care services are covered with no deductible and no copay. Other services, like visits to your primary care physician, are covered before your deductible, but still require a copay.

To view how your deductible applies to specific health care services, please visit the Smart Select plan page.
