What’s my waiting period for pre-existing conditions?

A waiting period is the time it takes for your health insurance to take effect once you’ve enrolled in a health care plan.

If you're age 19 or older, you'll have to wait 180 days before your plan will cover your pre-existing conditions, except for preventive care.

You may be able to waive the waiting period by filling out an Application for Waiver of Pre-existing Waiting Period. Find out more in How can I receive a waiver for the pre-existing waiting period?
