Who's eligible for the Healthy Blue Living plans?

This information explains who can enroll in the Healthy Blue Living and Healthy Blue Living Rewards℠ plans.

The eligibility requirements are the same for both Healthy Blue Living and Healthy Blue Living Rewards. You can be in either plan if you’re:

  • An active employee, COBRA member or retiree of an employer that sponsors a Healthy Blue Living plan AND under the age of 65

If you’re over the age of 65, you’re eligible for or may already be enrolled in a Medicare plan. But your non-Medicare eligible spouse or dependents can still get the benefits of a Healthy Blue Living plan. You just need to be an active employee, COBRA member or retiree of an employer that sponsors the plans. Here’s how it works:

If you are And your spouse is And a Medicare plan is offered
Medicare-eligible Medicare-eligible You and your spouse enroll in the Medicare plan. Your non-Medicare eligible dependents are automatically enrolled in the Healthy Blue Living plan with enhanced benefits.
Medicare-eligible Not Medicare eligible You enroll in the Medicare plan. Your spouse enrolls in the Healthy Blue Living plan. Dependents receive the spouse's benefits (enhanced or standard for Healthy Blue Living; enhanced, intermediate or standard for Healthy Blue Living Rewards).
Not Medicare eligible Medicare-eligible You enroll in the Healthy Blue Living plan. Your dependents get your benefits (enhanced or standard for Healthy Blue Living; enhanced, intermediate, standard for Healthy Blue Living Rewards). Your spouse enrolls in the Medicare plan.
