Enhancing Primary Care in Michigan’s Safety Net Organizations
Even with health care reform, safety net clinics need help to care for the newly insured and uninsured. And we’re committed to supporting the people who provide it.
We're offering a new grant program called Enhancing Primary Care in Michigan’s Safety Net Organizations. Primary care focuses on providing medical services to patients with acute, preventable and chronic conditions. Health care reform is likely to increase the need for this type of care in the uninsured and underinsured populations.
The aim of this program is to help safety net providers develop or adapt new innovations that other providers across the state can replicate. If you have an idea of how to increase access to primary care services in these vulnerable populations, we want to help you make it happen.
We'll award a total of $250,000 for up to five grants and for up to two years each. Organizations should use the grant money to improve service delivery and quality of care.
