Employee Volunteers

Our employees demonstrate the Blues commitment to Michigan by volunteering their time, talent, and resources to improve Michigan communities.

Our Blues Caring Crew of current and retired employees volunteer support to community projects and nonprofit organizations that:

  • Build strong Michigan neighborhoods and communities
  • Improve the health and quality of life of Michigan residents

The Blues employee volunteer efforts demonstrate our commitment to Michigan by helping to build stronger communities and improve the health and quality of life of Michigan residents.

Through employee volunteer efforts such as Operation Can Do, Ink Cartridge Drive, Meals on Wheels, Bowl for Kids Sake, the National Kidney Foundation and Alzheimer’s Walks, the Blues have exceeded our annual corporate goal of 48,000 volunteer hours.

To date employees have volunteered more than 53,000 hours. Using The Points of Light Foundation dollar value of $19.51 for each hour, employees have given back more than $1,034,000 to Michigan communities.

Coupled with our United Way campaign where employees generously contributed $934,000, we've contributed more than $1.9 million to our State!
