For a healthier you…
Take care of your
mouth and eyes, too!
The eyes
Checking the blood vessels at the back of the eye as part of a vision exam offers a unique glimpse into the body's vast network of blood vessels. Damage in this area of the eye can be the first physical sign of a health problem.
The mouth
It may surprise you to know that the condition of your mouth can reflect the condition of your health. That's right — your dentist may be the first health care professional to notice signs of a problem. Your lips, tongue, gums, salivary glands and oral tissue can all warn of health trouble.
What health conditions can your mouth and eyes reveal?
Regular examinations help you maintain good health. Your eye doctor and dentist, like your medical doctor, look for signs that could signify a health condition.
What can you do?
See your dentist regularly. See your eye doctor every year. It's good for your health!
