Healthy Blue Xtras launches interactive campaign to educate Michiganders on how to celebrate healthy holidays
Consumers can win daily prizes by correctly identifying seasonal dishes as "Naughty or Nice"
Dec. 3, 2013
DETROIT — When it comes to holiday eating, it can be tough to figure out the healthiest options or have the discipline to choose them. For a third year running, Healthy Blue Xtras will help people make it onto the “nutritional nice list” with a fun, interactive, online game, available on Blue Cross’ A Healthier Michigan Facebook page.
Each day for 30 days, the game challenges you to choose between seasonal favorites like ginger bread cookies verse pumpkin muffins. Your job: Select the dish that’s naughty or nice in order to move your character around a Michigan-shaped game board. A pop-up box lets you know if you answered correctly, which food is healthier, and provides you with a link to a recipe on Pinterest. The game begins Nov. 26 and ends on Dec. 25. One winner will be selected at random every day for correctly answering that day’s challenge. Prizes include $25 gift cards to select Healthy Blue Xtras retailers.
The Healthy Blue Holiday campaign will also feature a series of holiday-related blog posts on aHealthierMichigan.org to provide consumers with health advice, delicious holiday recipes and more. Follow the campaign on A Healthier Michigan social channels using the hashtag #HBXHoliday.
