Filing complaints, inquiries or appeals
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's goal is to provide you and your family with comprehensive health care by offering a wide selection of physicians and hospitals within the statewide PPO network. However, we realize that claims and servicing issues occasionally arise. There are opportunities to resolve these issues.
How to file a complaint or make an inquiry
A complaint is an expression of dissatisfaction by a member regarding a specific service or quality-of-care problem. An inquiry is a question about a claim or a request for further information. Contact your Customer Service center if you have a complaint or inquiry. Customer Service toll-free numbers are located on the back of your Blues identification card.
How to file an appeal
An appeal is a written request for reconsideration of any adverse benefit determination. We consider an adverse benefit determination to be a decision that denies, reduces or terminates health care coverage, services or benefits. Please contact your Customer Service center to obtain an address for written appeals.
